Once inside their suites, guests feel like they've entered their own private world. The decor speaks of artistic taste and quality, from hand-textured walls to fine-art photography, with plenty of Western-style touches. Indulgent touches such as a steam shower, jetted bathtub, private balcony and stone fireplace balance practical considerations such as a washer-dryer. Each suite also comes complete with a deluxe kitchen or kitchenette.

Access to skiing and golf is as easy as walking across the street. Skiers can walk out the door and be on one of several trails or ski lifts in less than a minute, thanks to the assistance of the inn's on-slope ski valet. Skis are stored, waxed and de-burred for the following day. In summer, Telluride's beautiful 18-hole resort course is also within walking distance.

Just 100 yards from the Inn's front door, the country's only free public gondola system takes guests on a 12-minute ride up the mountain and down into Main Street Telluride. After a day full of activity, many guests like to retreat to the spa. The Inn's massage treatment facility provides an array of therapeutic pleasures, and a fitness room on the hotel premises is equipped with modern machines.

Food is taken as seriously as the doting service at Lost Creek. The 9545 Restaurant and Bar provides an "elevated" dining experience with distinctive food and boutique wines.
