Named after the massive Ponderosa Pine Tree that occupies the front yard, Ponderosa Lodge is a grand three-level log home that sits just under the Steamboat Gondola. Offering over 6,000 square feet of living space ideally equipped to accommodate up to fourteen guests, this expansive six bedroom residence with a rustic theme is a true mountain retreat in Steamboat. From its mountainside location, Ponderosa Lodge is just a few minutes from the Steamboat Gondola and ten minute drive from downtown Steamboat with an on-call shuttle service allowing for two morning and two afternoon pickups to and from the ski area with nigh-time service to the shops and restaurants in the base area and downtown.

With vaulted wood beam ceilings and exposed log walls, the living room sits on the main level of Ponderosa Lodge boasting a wood burning fireplace and spectacular views of the entire valley. Overlooking the living room, the spacious kitchen is stocked with all the essentials and features granite countertops, upscale appliances, and a breakfast bar that seats five. Framed by windows, the adjacent dining area provides seating for twelve. Access to the southern facing large deck which includes ample deck furniture is found through glass doors in either the living room or kitchen. On the lower level, a family room features a comfortably furnished sitting area centered on a stone-framed fireplace and large television, a wet bar with refrigerator, a card table, and a closet full of games. Off the lower level there is an additional wood deck containing a private hot tub flanked by bench seating; the perfect location to unwind, relax, and take in the inspiring mountain views. Two separate laundry rooms make it easy to pack lighter and not have to worry about running out of clothes throughout your stay.

Six guest bedrooms are spread throughout Ponderosa Lodge’s three levels providing an added level of privacy. A large master suite sits on the main level with a gas fireplace and a private bathroom featuring a Jacuzzi tub. Two upper level bedrooms share a bathroom with dual sinks and granite countertops. Three guest bedrooms are located on the lower level of Ponderosa Lodge, all comfortably and tastefully appointed. One  of the lower level bedrooms features a gas fireplace plus a small windowless room off to the side designed for a nursery, this room shares a bathroom with the lower level family room. The final two guest rooms share a bathroom. There is also a loft  area on the lower level above the family room designed as a play area for small children. For additional sleeping accommodations, an office on the main level includes a Sleeper Sofa.

The on-call shuttle service provided with Ponderosa Lodge, offering two pickups in the morning and two in the afternoon for transport to and from the Steamboat ski area. During mid-day the shuttle is available on-call for transport to and from the grocery stores and the mountain area. At night from 5-10PM, guests may utilize the on-call service for transportation to and from downtown and the mountain area.
