Beaver Creek

Welcome to the world of “Not Exactly Roughing It”!

An apt slogan that still does not quite capture in its entirety the relaxed, entitled, and pampered environment awaiting you in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

Here the majority of the accommodations are of high quality with close proximity to the slopes, escalators whisk you up to the lifts with your skis, kids, and beginners enjoy their own gondola, and chefs peruse the base area daily at 3:00 PM handing out fresh chocolate chip cookies on silver platters, long intermediate runs beckon with immaculately groomed corduroy, and crowds are seldom encountered. If you are looking to pamper yourself in an atmosphere of self-assured luxury that also manages to be relaxingly low-key, then a Beaver Creek Vacation Package is a perfect choice for your next spectacular Rocky Mountain Getaway.

Where to eat in Beaver Creek and nightlife options

Foodies will appreciate the many dining options that can be found in both Beaver Creek Resort and in the surrounding town of Avon certain to please all moods, palates, and budgets.

On-mountain dining options include Maimie’s Mountain Grill where you can grill your own entree, and the newly added Candy Cabin is a sure stop for those with kids for snacks or dessert.

For an exclusive dinner dining experience, the resort runs an enchanting on-mountain fine dining event hosted in elegant cabins accessible only by snowcat-pulled sleds. Visit the Beaver Creek Chophouse for complimentary flutes of champagne every day when the lifts close followed by a popular western fine dining experience as night falls.

Outdoor live music and apres ski libations are always in play at 8100 Mountainside Bar & Grill. The Broken Arrow in Arrowhead is also a popular happy hour and apres spot for the local crowd.

In the evening, Beaver Creek Village alone offers 20 plus dining options ranging from Mexican to Sushi to casual options like Blue Moose Pizza or the popular Dusty Boot steakhouse where the microbrews flow in abundance and the crowd gets livelier as the night progresses.

For nightlife, one can take in a show or concert at the intimate Vilar Center located right in the resort or cruise into the town of Avon for multiple dining and nightlife options that include the casual but very lively Bob’s Place Sports Bar.

Beaver Creek
Town / Base Village

Located in a gated community in the quaint town of Avon, Colorado, Beaver Creek is an upscale resort that has several diverse focal points for lodging and amenities. Beaver Creek Village, the flagship base, is an iconic citadel located high above Avon and anchored by a picturesque ice rink surrounded by an abundant cross section of high end shops, services, and dining options. The Bachelor’s Gulch base is a lodging only area offering few amenities that are not contained by the high end and mostly ski-in/ski-out luxury accommodations. Arrowhead Village represents a small unassuming base village located outside of town with minimal, yet adequate amenities. Beaver Creek Landing, a small on-mountain enclave with a very small lodging base, is serviced by an eatery and a few shops. One can also leave the resort to visit the more substantial town of Avon that is characterized by its many traffic roundabouts and a handy assortment of mainstream shops and restaurants that are often more economical for dining or purchasing staple items than the shops located in the Beaver Creek Village base area.

The Beaver Creek Vibe

“Not Exactly Roughing it” is the slogan and the mantra that accurately characterizes the Beaver Creek vibe. A Beaver Creek ski vacation is a thing that magical memories are made of, it is about spending some time with the ones you love in an environment that is at once exclusive while still being laidback and unpretentious. Treat yourself to it.

The Mountain

Receiving an astonishing 27+ feet of snow each year on average, the Beaver Creek Resort offers a stellar wealth of varied terrain sometimes overlooked in the discussion of great ski mountains. Beaver Creek Mountain is famous for its intermediate and advanced, immaculately groomed corduroy cruisers. Bachelor’s Gulch boasts an intermediate oasis with plenty of cruisers as well as more advanced gladed terrain for those who enjoy playing in the powder amongst the abundant Aspens. The Talons area consists of three lifts that access 14 black and double black diamond runs where one can find more than their fill of leg-burning bumps or tackle the vaunted “Birds of Prey” World Cup downhill course. As a testament to this terrain, Beaver Creek was host to the 2015 FIS Alpine World Championships, its 3rd nod to host this iconic event. Kids and beginners enjoy their own separate groomed beginner area known as the “Haymaker” nicely accessorized with “The Buckaroo Express” gondola. Beginners also have unique access to beginner terrain at the top of the mountain serviced by the user-friendly Cinch and Drink of Water Lifts. On the extreme side, Rose Bowl is where you will find the Stone Chutes that will challenge even the most advanced skiers. In total, Beaver Creek offers a robust 1,832 skiable acres judiciously divided between 19% “Beginner”, 43% “Intermediate”, 21% “Advanced”, 12% “Expert”, and 5% “Extreme”. The resort also boasts an impressive 3,300 vertical feet, 150 runs, and 26 lifts to efficiently service it all.

As a member of the Vail Resorts family Beaver Creek is also part of the Epic Pass collection of resorts. This means that when you purchase your Epic Pass lift ticket through Rocky Mountain Getaways you not only enjoy skiing and riding at Vail but are also afforded access to Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone, and A-Basin in Colorado; Heavenly, Northstar, and Kirkwood in Lake Tahoe; Perisher Mountain in Australia; and many others!
