Getting to Revelstoke

Whether it’s by air, car or bus, there are many options for visitors travelling to Revelstoke. If you are traveling by air, the best option is to fly into the Kelowna International Airport (YLW) and catch Revelstoke Transfers which runs 5 guaranteed departures per day during the winter and 1 guaranteed departure per day during the summer months.

What you should know as an International Traveler:

For short-term visits to Canada, you will need a valid passport. Persons under 18 years traveling without their parents should have identification and a letter of authorization from a parent or guardian to travel to Canada.

For citizens of certain countries Canada requires a visitor’s visa to be obtained from their nearest Canadian Consulate before entry into Canada, please check if this is required before your trip.

Driving

The drive to Revelstoke, British Columbia is one of the most spectacular in Canada. Traveling from the east, you’ll pass through two National Parks in the Selkirk Mountains, featuring views of white-water rivers, pristine forests, dramatic peaks, and impressive glaciers. Traveling from the west, your journey takes you through the scenic Okanagan Valley. If you are renting a vehicle, please request your vehicle is equipped with winter tires for your commute into the interior. Four popular rental companies are Hertz, Thrifty, Budget and National.

Shuttle

Easily access Revelstoke Mountain Resort without the need of a personal car. The Resort Shuttle operates daily during the summer and winter months with frequent and on-time stops within Revelstoke. The shuttle can also be used to travel around town efficiently.

Flights

Often referred to as the gateway to Revelstoke, the Kelowna International Airport, YLW is Interior BC’s largest hub with daily non-stop flights from Calgary, Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, Seattle, and Los Angeles.

Airlines flying into YLW include Air Canada, WestJet, Alaska Airlines, & Pacific Coastal. From Kelowna, it’s approximately a 2.5-hour drive to Revelstoke.

Calgary, Alberta is a major international airport that lies in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, four and a half hours East of Revelstoke. Calgary has daily non-stop flights from countless destinations in the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, China, Japan as well as Central America.

At the present time, there is no scheduled shuttle service between Calgary and Revelstoke. Revelstoke Transfers offers private transfers, but most guests opt to rent a vehicle for the flexibility of visiting resorts in the Rockies. There are several car rental agencies located at the Calgary International Airport including Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and Avis.
